In 2010, I graduated from the integrated bachelor’s and master’s program in Psychology at the University of Vienna. I completed my master’s degree in clinical psychology. While writing my master’s thesis, I also worked as a research assistant on a project at the Department of Psychology at the University of Vienna. I completed one year of theoretical training in psychotherapy at a cognitive-behavioral psychotherapy institute officially recognized in Germany. As part of my psychotherapy training, I underwent a process of self-analysis and completed a clinical internship in the depression unit of a hospital in Nuremberg.

I completed my master’s degree with a thesis on the relationship between perceived discrimination and academic achievement among second-generation Turkish adolescents, entitled “Der Zusammenhang von wahrgenommener Diskriminierung und Schulerfolg bei Jugendlichen türkischer Herkunft der zweiten Generation.”

I continued my academic career in 2012 as a research associate in the Department of Psychology at Friedrich Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg in Germany. In this role, I was engaged in all phases of a large-scale longitudinal research project that was carried out in secondary schools and high schools across Germany and involved thousands of students. I completed my doctorate in 2016 within the scope of this project.

I completed and published my doctoral dissertation entitled "Interkulturelle Spezifika bei antisozialem Verhalten männlicher Jugendlicher-längsschnittliche Auswirkungen der wahrgenommenen Diskriminierung auf das Gewalthandeln und auf das Delinquenzverhalten".

After completing my doctorate at Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg, I taught courses in the Department of Psychology for about one year.

Since 2017, I have been working at Ibn Haldun University, where I continue my academic work. In addition, I serve as the Director and Chair of the Board of the Psychotherapy Application and Research Center (İPAM). In 2024, I was promoted to Associate Professor.
